How the Fake US Address Generator works
The street number, street name, and street type are fully randomized — but the city, state, ZIP code, and county are drawn together as a matched, real combination from a curated list of major US cities, rather than mixed independently. This matters: a random city paired with an unrelated random state and ZIP code would produce an address that's obviously nonsensical (like a ZIP code from the wrong state entirely), which defeats the purpose of realistic test data.
The county field reflects each city's actual county (or parish in Louisiana, or independent city in Virginia — both real exceptions to the standard US county system, included deliberately for accuracy). The map plots the real latitude and longitude of the city for the most recently generated address in the batch.

Is this a real, deliverable address?
No — only the city, state, ZIP, and county are real and internally consistent; the street number and street name are randomly generated and not tied to any actual building or resident.
Why not fully randomize the city too?
A fully random city/state/ZIP combination would frequently be geographically nonsensical (a ZIP code from the wrong state, for example), which is far less useful for realistic testing than a real, matched combination.
Does this cover every US city?
It covers a major city in every one of the 50 states plus Washington, D.C. — 63 cities in total, with extra coverage for populous states like California and Texas — but it's not an exhaustive list of every US city or ZIP code.
Can I get an address in a specific state?
