How the Random Musical Scale Generator works
Each scale is built from a fixed interval pattern (a set of steps measured in semitones from the root) applied to whichever root note is drawn — the same mathematical structure real scales are built from, so results are always genuine, correctly-spelled scales rather than arbitrary note collections.
The piano diagram highlights every note in the generated scale directly on a one-octave keyboard, so you can see the scale's shape at a glance — useful for spotting patterns like the pentatonic scale's gapped, five-note shape versus the full seven-note major scale.
