How the Fake Test Identity Generator works
This combines several of Xrandom's individually-verified safe data sources into one profile: names from large real-name pools, a phone number from the officially reserved 555-0100–0199 fictional block, an email on the IANA-reserved example.com domain, and a real matched city/state/ZIP/county combination — the same data used in the standalone US Address Generator. Every piece is either genuinely random placeholder data or drawn from a source specifically designated safe for exactly this kind of use.
Deliberately excluded: this tool does not generate a Social Security Number or a credit card number. Algorithmically generating either is functionally identical to techniques used for real identity or payment fraud, regardless of the stated intent, so Xrandom leaves those fields out entirely rather than provide something with that kind of dual-use risk.
How to use it
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real person's identity?
No — every field is either independently randomized or drawn from officially safe placeholder ranges (like the phone number and email domain); no real individual's actual identity is being generated or referenced.
Why no SSN or credit card number field?
Both would require generating numbers that pass real validation checks, which is the same technique used in identity and payment fraud — Xrandom deliberately avoids this regardless of stated testing intent. See the Test Payment Card Picker for a safe alternative using officially published sandbox-only numbers.
Is the age realistic?
Yes, ages are drawn uniformly between 18 and 90, and the displayed age is calculated precisely from the generated date of birth relative to today's date, accounting for whether the birthday has occurred yet this year.
Can I get a persona from a specific state?
Yes, use the state dropdown — this generator now covers all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., the same full city dataset used by the standalone US Address Generator.
